SCRIPTURE READING: Nehemiah 4:13-23
So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out.  – Nehemiah 4:21
Accomplishment of vision is not on a silver platter. There are many storms and challenges one will go through before realizing his/her dream. Yet, because there is a purpose, one’s attention will not be on those challenges but on the purpose.
Tobiah, Sanballat, Arabians, Ammonites and the Ashdodites constantly and consistently threatened Nehemiah and the Jews. In fact, these enemies employed the following diabolic tools to discourage them from working and building the wall of Jerusalem: Grieving, mocking, ridiculing, wrath, indignation and scheming.
Despite all these diabolic physical and spiritual attacks, Nehemiah and the Jews overcame them by constant preparedness – constantly praying to God and working from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared. After encouraging the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, they strengthened themselves by working wholeheartedly; holding their weapons against their enemies with one hand and doing the work with another hand.
If one pays the price of hardwork and dedication to duty, one can accomplish his/her vision, despite the challenges he/she will go through.
• Am I discouraged because someone had despised and mocked at my vision?
God the Holy Spirit, give me the spirit of tenacity like Nehemiah to accomplish my vision.
Winners never quit and quitters never win.
