And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. – James 5:15
Everything on this earth has a source including light, river, life and love. Living things have their sources. Without your source you will die, perish or be destroyed. We must tap to the source of this power so that we can live. So then what is the source of your power? (Ponder over this)
As believers our source of power is the Almighty God – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. The God Head is the source of our power.
The word of God, which is another source of the believer’s power, is said to be alive and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
In the words of Rev. James McKeown, Founder of The Church of Pentecost: “The Word operates like a hammer which splits rocks, opens graves, unlocks prison doors, gives sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf , speech to the dumb, and strength to the lame. Feel it, love it, enjoy it and obey it.”
Prayer is the life wire of man; the breath of man towards God. Prayer is therefore the Oxygen of man. It is one of the ways through which we receive from God. What has prayer done for you? (Ponder over this)
This is what Charles Trumbull had to say about prayer: “Prayer releases the energies of God. For, prayer is asking God to do what we cannot do.”
Also John Wesley states that: “God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it”, whiles D.L. Moody opines that: “Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure.”
What are the sources of your power?
Pray that the seed of prayer would be planted in you.
Prayer is the Oxygen of man.
