“REACHING YOUR GOAL IN SPITE OF…”

SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 13:30- 33
MEMORY VERSE:
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. – 1 Corinthians 16:13
When enemies suddenly become friends offering an advice to you then beware. The passage tells us that the Pharisees came to Jesus and told Him to leave where He was and go somewhere else because Herod wanted to kill Him.
One may ask, was it really for a good purpose that the Pharisees offered this advice? Jesus however discerned their diabolical acts of wanting to stop Him from reaching His goal and purpose for coming to that area.
We see this in the reply Jesus gave them. The Pharisees were perpetual accusers of Jesus and His ministry throughout His life on earth. The story changes only in the account given by Luke 13:31-32 and the Pharisees showing interest in His safety.

Jesus was never distracted by the hypocritical concern of the Pharisees but instead kept focus with His purpose and even spelt them in specific terms in the first, second and the third day. So must Christians spell out our purpose and objectives in Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Tangible (SMART) terms.

What are your goals or purpose in life? Are you keeping focus on them or have you been distracted? Become like Jesus who will not badge but keep focus on His goal in spite of distractions everywhere.

FOR MEDITATION:
Do I allow people to distract me from my goals in life?
PRAYER:
Lord help me to be strong, firm and focused in life so that I will not be distracted by wrong advice from people. I pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
It is only a live fish that can swim against the waves of the sea but a dead fish is tossed about.
