“NO ANXIETY”

SCRIPTURE READING: Philippians 4:4-9
MEMORY VERSE:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer, and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to GOD.” – Philippians 4:6
Anxiety has been defined as the “uneasiness and agitation of mind due to impending trouble or danger”. It is also explained as an ardent or earnest wish to do or have something. However, one common thing that can be seen in both definitions is lack of peace of mind.
In our world today the issues that create anxiety are many and include situations like sickness, marital problems, poverty, fear, family, etc.
As believers we are entreated to be anxious about nothing. God wants us as His redeemed ones to place our faith solidly in Him. He desires that we unflinchingly lean on Him, and trust Him with every detail of our lives. Paul advises that in every circumstance and situation – in times of threat to our lives, in times of personal wrongdoing, in times when you are denied justice and your rights are trampled on, when superiors mistreat you on the job – we shouldn’t worry, but talk to GOD because He cares.

FOR MEDITATION:
• Am I a worrier? / Am I always worried?
• What does Jesus say about worrying?

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, Keep me from anxiety. Amen

THOUGHT:
Your anxiety belittles GOD
