“HE MAKES ME DWELL IN SAFETY”

SCRIPTURE READING: Isaiah 43:1-4
MEMORY VERSE:
I will lie down in sleep in peace for You alone Oh Lord, makes me dwell in safety. – Psalm 4:8 (NIV)
When a person receives Jesus as His Lord and personal Saviour, there comes the assurance of salvation and eternal life. He begins to walk in faith trusting that the One who has called him from darkness into His marvelous light is faithful in His promises.
Jesus declares “Fear not for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God.” Very comforting!
There are moments of trials and persecution to try our faith. However, God has promised to be with us. There is no doubt that there are terrors of the night, arrows that fly during the day, and plagues that destroy at mid-day and pestilence that stalks in darkness but God’s faithfulness prevails.
Therefore, like David, the Christian can say with the confidence we have in Christ our Saviour that “I will lie down and sleep in peace for You alone Oh Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
FOR MEDITATION:
Have I ever had frightful moments which made my faith fade?
PRAYER:
Thank You Lord Jesus for the assurance of salvation and protection. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
The believer is always on the winning side because His Saviour is the winner.
