“HE LAUGHS”

SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 2
MEMORY VERSE:
“The one enthroned in heaven laughs, the Lord scoffs at them.” – Psalm 2:4
It is certainly laughable when a puny man conspires and schemes against God. At the dawn of time, when at Babel man sought to challenge God, a little divine re-programming of the brain caused so much confusion, the devil inspired project was abandoned. It is the highest of pride and deep foolishness for the creature to attempt to plot against the creator.
The Bible is replete with stories of how God through ingenious ways overthrew armies that rose up against His people Israel.
Imagine God on His throne Omnipotent, Omnipresent, exalted high, looking down on men, vessels of clay, feverishly planning and plotting to rebel and actually overthrow.
They are like ants scurrying on Kitchen table trying to hide particles of food to secure their future, while all the time you hold a can of insecticide over their heads. One spray of the insecticide can wipe a whole generation of ants. That is how laughable it is when men plot against God.
FOR MEDITATION:
• In what ways am I rebelling against God?
• Am I for God or against Him?
PRAYER:
Heavenly father, grant me the grace to understand Your awesome greatness and submit to You at times. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
God scoffs at scoffers.
